Hyperaccents was started in Deerfield Beach Florida,  back in 1990 .

At the time I got hit in the head with a surfboard, and realized it would not have hurt so much if it was smaller, and so I made a bunch of mini surfboards, and have been wearing them in my hair ever since.

Actually that’s not what really happened, I did get hit in the head with the Idea though , and started to paint them right away, I was making them for all my friends, and soon decided to patent the design and start a Surfboard Hair Barrette business.

Eventually in the mid 1990’s Surfboard Hair Barrettes were in almost every Surf shop in the USA.

They were great then, and They are great again (Surfboard Hair Barrettes are back)

HyperAccents is back in Business in 2025 and now located in Massachusetts.

We are now making our hair barrettes out of recycled plastic and recycled fishing nets.

HyperAccents is a wholesale , and retail outlet.
